We won't underestimate the Bulldogs this year! With low expectations in 2006 all they did was start out 10-0 and that include wins over Notre Dame, Indiana, Tennessee, and Gonzaga to win the Preseason NIT. Later they beat Purdue and were ranked in the top 10, a first for Horizon league. That was followed by the team's second Sweet 16 appearance in five years. They finished with 29 wins. What do do for an encore? First of all Todd Lickliter was snatched up by Iowa and assistant Brad Stevens was promoted to Head Coach. Good move to keep it in the family. They return three starters and they'll win the Horizon again and who knows after that.

The two returning guards run the show for the Bulldogs. A.J. Graves is a great shooter and seems to never get rattled even if he looks like he hasn't eaten in a week. Mike Green, a Towson transfer, was the Horizon newcomer of the year. He averaged 13 ppg and 6 rpg. There are nine returning letter winners on the squad and a 6'8" transfer,Avery Jukes, from Alabama. Julian Betko will play guard or forward and is a three point threat. Matt Howard is a 6'7" prize recruit who will play sooner that later. Pete Campbell returns at forward. He led Butler in three point shooting.

This is an unselfish group of over achievers. who will pick up where they left off last year. The schedule features games with Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, Southern Illinois, and a trip to the Alaska Shootout. We won't scrimp on this team this year. They'll win 26 games and should be a third round pick in your draft.

Butler has great guards look for A.J.Graves to be player of the year in the Horizon. They'll run throught the conference and despite a tough non-conf slate this group will win 26 games. Get'em early!
