DePaul lost their top two scorers from a 20-14 team. Sammy Mejia and Wilson Chandler are gone and DePaul looks to reload with some exciting recruits to try to get back to the NCAA tournament. Last year a late rush winning five of their last six qualified them for the NIT but this year Head Coach Jerry Wainwright wants more and thinks he has it in Draelon Burns and a host of large recruits.

Look for backcourt man Draelon Burns to take the leadership role with Mejia and Chandler gone. He averaged 11.6 ppg last year. A pair of returning guards, Jabari Currie and Cliff Clinkscales will battle to be the point guard. Both played sparingly last year.

In the frontcourt Wesley Green at 6'9" would be a pleasant surprise at center but the more likely scenario is that one of two recruits will man that spot. Mac Koshwal at 6'10" is the man the Demons are counting on. Wainwright has said that he could be the best center ever at DePaul. The forwards are returnee Karron Clarke and possibly new recruit Dar Tucker. There is much depth at every position with 2 other centers, Kenechukwu Obi and Matija Poscic, with size and ability and a number of guards to vie for playing time.

Wainwright is excited about this years team. Playing in the Big East with its new 18 game conference schedule is always a challenge. Add to that games at Creighton, Kansas, Clemson, and Ole Miss and you better be ready. We think DePaul is a good mid round pick in our Most Wins contest. We think they will be a 18 game winner and finish in the middle of the Big East.

DePaul will depend on some youngsters and a deep group of wing players. With good play at the point look for 18 wins and a middle of the pack place finish in the Big East.
