At Kansas Bill Self will be entering his fifth season as Head Coach, the Jayhawks won 33 games last season in return for starters. All the pieces are in place for Kansas to contend for the national title, they returned 85% of their scoring 80% of their rebounding from last season.

The Guards Kansas has arguably the best, deepest backcourt in America. Brandon Rush was forced to withdraw from the NBA draft due to injury; he’s an All-American who excels at both ends of the court. At the point Senior Russell Robinson returns, he'll be pushed hard for minutes by sophomore Sharon Collins whom coach Self believes has All-American talent. Junior Mario Chalmers was co-Big 12 defensive Player of the Year last season, he averaged 12.2 points and 3.3 assists for the Jayhawks.

The Forwards At one spot will be Darrell Arthur, the 6-9 sophomore has already been projected as a lottery pick in next year's draft. Darrell Jackson, a senior played as a reserve last season and averaged 5.5 ppg and 5.1 rpg last season, he will be asked to do more this year.

The Center Sasha Kaun is a returning starter in the middle who averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds as a junior; he also chipped in 1.4 blocked shots per game.

The Tigers have a relatively soft non-conference Schedule this season, they get a DePaul at home and visit USC, Georgia Tech and Boston College. Look for Kansas to be ranked #1 at some point this season, the hope in Lawrence is that it's at season's end. The Tigers will make a run at the National Championship, reached the Final Four but come up just short on their way to 37 wins.

Look for KU to be ranked #1 at some point this season. The Tigers will make a run at the National Championship, reach the Final Four but come up just short on their way to 37 wins.
