In Head Coach Rick Pitino's seventh year at Kentucky he won the National Championship. This is his seventh year at Louisville and we won't count him out. Last years 24-10 team loses only one player in two guard Brandon Jenkins and returns a deep, athletic, talented group ready to challenge Georgetown for Big East supremacy. There are so many good players on the roster that talent and depth aren't a concern; only playing time and health. Pitino has hired former player Walter McCarty to help with the big men and help instill in them the importance of team concept .

Let's start in the frontcourt where the only two seniors reside. David Padget is an oft injured 6'11" powerful force at center. Juan Palacios is a 6'8" forward who has battled through ankle problems since his freshman year. If healthy these two players could carry any team a long way. Terence Williams will be the third starter up front at 6'8". He is the team's most talented player. Not only can he rebound and explode to the basket but on nights when he's called upon to play the point he executes that admirably. Throw in Derrick Caracter, a powerful 6'8" 265lb talent and Eric Clark a 6'8" jumping jack who is a matchup nightmare, and you have a great frontcourt. The backcourt may not be as deep but it is just as talented. Edgar Sosa is a point/scorer. He had 31 points in the season ending loss to Texas A&M. Sophomore Jerry Smith will be the other guard. He's the long range marksman with a 48% three point shooting touch. Andre McGee who was hurt most of last year will provide depth at the guard position.

Caracter, Sosa, Jerry Smith, and Earl Clark are all sophomores so the future looks bright in Louisville, this is one of Pitino's best teams and who better than him to take all this talent on a ride deep into the NCAA tournament? There will be a lot of victories this year and if you are in one of our contests you better snap up the Cardinals early. 28 to 30 wins and a possible Final Four appearance is what we think.

This is one of Pitino's best teams and who better than him to take all this talent on a ride deep into the NCAA tournament. Will battle Georgetown in the Big East and come up second, 28 wins.
