Let's start right off by telling you if you're in a MostWins fantasy sports contest North Carolina will be a top three pick in all drafts. They won 31 games last year and this year will be no different. This is a preseason top 3 team. It is certainly a mystery as to what happened against Georgetown in the final game of last season. Head Coach Roy Williams will make sure that this season doesn't end the way it did last year. North Carolina returns six of its top eight scorers and has All-American forward Tyler Hansbrough coming back in the middle. Williams has vowed to push harder this year with his experienced group.

At the guard spots the combination of Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington should provide the excitement that North Carolina needs in the backcourt. Lawson is that jet-quick sophomore who doled out a league-leading 213 assists. Ellington who missed the open jumper against Georgetown must improve on his 37% three point shooting. As always at Carolina there is plenty of depth. Reserves Bobby Frasor and Quentin Thomas will back up starting guards.

The frontcourt features the undisputed team leader Hansbrough, who should be on everyone's list for player of the year honors. The loss of Brandon Wright to the NBA will be easier to handle now that Hansbrough has come back. Big men Deon Thompson and Alex Stepheson could be the key to this year's success. Both sophomores will be trying to fill the void that Brandon Wright last upfront.

Last year North Carolina led the ACC in scoring and this year should be no different. If there is one spot that could improve it would be team defense. In North Carolina's seven losses opponents scored more than 80 points in each game. The Tar Heels are young team and will improve as the year goes on.

Looking at the schedule with a team like this is really not much of a concern. They do have two tough games at Ohio State and at Kentucky but also have the usual amount of easy opponents in their non-conference schedule. Once the conference starts North Carolina will be the cream of the crop and may run through the ACC as they did last year. As stated earlier if you're in a MostWins fantasy sports contest North Carolina should certainly be a top pick. There won't be many 30 game winners this year but this team will be one of them. Expect them to have a long deep run in the NCAA tournament and don't be surprised if they're the national champion.

Hansbrough, Roy Williams, plenty of youth, quickness, a favorable schedule and just being North Carolina should provide plenty of wins. Possible national champ gets 30 wins easily.
