Arizona Wildcats

Coach: Mike Stoops

Mike Stoops enters his 5th season and is still looking for his first winning record. The Wildcats have been a defense oriented squad under Stoops but the roles will be reversed in 08’. The pressures if they're not bowl eligible chances are good that they’ll be a new head man in Tucson next fall.

Arizona State Sun Devils

Coach: Dennis Erickson

Dennis Erickson enters his 2nd as the Arizona St head coach and he’ll be looking to improve on a last season when they went 10-3 and 7-2 in conference. With a share of PAC-10 title and a trip to the Holiday Bowl the Sun Devils have high expectations coming into the 08-09 season.

California Golden Bears

Coach: Jeff Tedford

Could this be the last year for Head Coach Jeff Tedford, if they finish like they did last season it very well could be. They must replace 7 starters offensively, defensively they return 8 starters but they struggled against the run and lost the turnover battle in 07’.

Oregon Ducks

Coach: Mike Bellotti

Bellotti is entering his 14th season at the helm and the biggest challenge this fall will be to find a replacement for Dennis Dixon. They're always great offensively but the defense may have to carry the team, they were +9 in turnovers last year and if they repeat that number, watch out.

Oregon State Beavers

Coach: Mike Riley

Mike Riley has built a solid program as Oregon St has had a winning record four of the past five seasons including 19 in the last 2 years. The offense returns 7 starters an they’ll be fine but the nations 8th ranked unit must replace 8 starters but they do have some solid depth to draw from.

Stanford Cardinal

Coach: Jim Harbaugh

Hate to break it to the Cardinal fans, but I don’t see them beating USC again. They return lots of experience and have 17 starters back but lack depth and the PAC-10 is always tough. Harbaugh has a tough job but his enthusiasm is contagious and the programs headed in the right direction.

UCLA Briuns

Coach: Rick Neuheisel

Rich Neuheisel is now the new face of UCLA football, lots of holes to fill and the fans will only be patient for a short time. Expect the Bruins to struggle this year as Neuheisel begins the makeover and attempts to move the program closer to the hated Trojans, can he do it, we’ll see?

USC Trojans

Coach: Pete Carroll

Entering his 8th year Pete Carroll’s Trojans have won at least 11 games in each of the last 6 seasons, pretty impressive. He’s an smart coach but will need to pull out all of his tricks this season as this team doesn’t appear to be as dominant as in past years. But then again it is USC.

logo

Washington Huskies

Coach: Tyrone Willingham

Tyrone Willingham is entering his 4th year at UW and needs to win some games to keep the faithful at bay. After last years win over Boise St the though was there might be some good things happening in Washington, well as we can all see now that hasn't happened yet.

Washington St Cougars

Coach: Paul Wulff

Paul Wulff is the new man at Washington St, he's installing the no-huddle attack and the team adjusted well this spring but expect this to be a transition year for the Cougars. It’s been four years without a bowl invite and Wulff will be expected to change that quickly.
