Boston College Eagles

Coach: Jeff Jagodzinski

Jagodzinski guided the Eagles to an 11 wins in his first year. The defense will once again be sound but their are holes to fill on offense; at QB and running back. Expectations on Chestnut Hill are that the Eagles will once again be one of the top teams in the ACC and will be bowl bound once again.

Clemson Tigers

Coach: Tommy Bowden

Tommy BC Bowden enters his 10th season as the head man and it appears this is his best Clemson team to date. Anything less than an ACC title will be a disappointment. 15 starters return, the big question is on the O-Line, if they find the answer Clemson could be in line for a BCS invite.

Duke Blue Devils

Coach: David Cutcliffe

New Coach David Cutcliffes’ first order of business has been to improve the fitness level of the team. 17 starters return but improvement is needed all phases of the game. Improved play on the O-Line will go a long way as the Blue Devils look to become a more competitive team.

Florida State Seminoles

Coach: Bobby Bowden

Bobby Bowden enters his 33rd season and after consecutive 7-6 campaigns the heats on, well it’s not on Bowden but OC Jimbo Fisher. He was hired as the heir replacement to Bowden and leading the Seminoles to a 90th ranking in scoring is simply not acceptable in Tallahassee.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Coach: Paul Johnson

You have to give Johnson credit, he's made his triple-option work in the past and now he’s plans to make it work at Ga Tech. He inherits better athletes than he had in the past but maybe not the ones he needs. They've been to a bowl game for 11 straight years and his job will to make it 12.

Maryland Terrapins

Coach: Ralph Friedgen

Ralph Friedgan enters his 8th year and he’s got a career mark of 56-31 but they were only 6-7 last year. James Franklin is the new OC, expect to see the West Coast attack. The Terps have questions at QB and the teams success will depend on how quickly whomever starts can pickup the new offense.

Miami-Fla Hurricannes

Coach: Randy Shannon

Randy Shannon led the Hurricanes to a 5-7 mark, he’s get the first year break but the fans will not have the same patience this fall. Miami has numerous holes to fill, they’ve recruited well the past 2 years and you can expect many of the incoming freshman to be in pads when the season begins.

logo

NC State Wolfpack

Coach: Tom O'Brien

Tom O’Brien 1st season ended on with mixed results, despite a 4 game winning streak the Wolfpack ended with a 5-7 mark. No out there doubts that O’Brien will get it done, with only 10 starters returning and questions on the O-Line they could take a step back before the ship gets righted.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Coach: Butch Davis

In his 1st season Butch Davis led UNC to a 4-8 record and he’s got them looking for more in 08'. They return 17 starters including most of the nation’s 35th ranked defense. The talent level is rising, if they can cut down the turnovers expectations are they'll be bowl bound at years end.

logo

Virginia Cavaliers

Coach: Al Groh

Al Groh enters his 8th season and year in and year out he’s gets the most out of the talent he has on board. UVA losses 2 players to the NFL and 2 to grades, plus they'll got a tough non-conference slate. But in the back of your mind you have to wonder, can Al Groh do it again?

logo

Virginia Tech Hokies

Coach: Frank Beamer

Frank Beamer enters 22nd year at Tech and he simply knows how to win, the Hokies were 11-3 last season and played in the ACC title game for the third time in four years and expectations are to do so again. The talent level is top notch at Va Tech so the belief is they’ll simply fill in the blanks,

Wake Forest Demon Decons

Coach: Jim Grobe

Jim Goebe enters his 8th year and with 20 wins in the last 2 seasons, he has molded Wake into a budding national power. They return 14 starters, offensively they must replace six players but in Riley Skimmer and Josh Adams they have the most potent backfield in the ACC.
